01 · The brief

Product quality was not the problem.

Good food was being judged by commodity-level packaging.

Aachi came to UDM with a product innovation challenge, not a design brief. Their products were authentic, regionally rooted and shaped around real consumer preference. The shelf, however, was only identifying the product—not selling the belief.

02 · Our role

Win the point of purchase in three seconds.

UDM's role was not to make Aachi look better. It was to make consumers believe what Aachi stood for.

“The Mother of Good Taste” defined by UDM became the strategic position anchoring colour architecture, product photography and SKU differentiation—turning care, ingredient quality and recipe authenticity into visible value on shelf.

Consumers stopped expecting offers. They started expecting quality.

The packaging system shifted the conversation from price sensitivity to value perception—giving each range a stronger reason to be chosen before the pack was even opened.

03 · The system

One brand. Many categories. Clear navigation.

Range architecture made every SKU easier to understand, easier to find and harder to ignore.

04 · The proof

Packaging became a commercial weapon.

The case-study source reports 150–300% sales growth after relaunch for three major ranges, while the export Biryani system generated orders before launch.

Royal Payasam Mix

Generic to festive premium.

“Royal” naming, gold palette and occasion-relevant photography created a more premium buying cue.

05 · Structural thinking

Not every packaging problem is a graphic-design problem.

For Badam Drink Mix, UDM worked through the pack itself: form, cap, grip, stacking and brand visibility.

The process moved from block concepts to detailed material rendering and then to production-ready 3D CAD and sleeve artwork—treating packaging as an engineered brand asset.

06 · The bigger picture

14 years of ensuring that packaging was never a liability.

Aachi started working with UDM at approximately ₹400 Cr turnover. The case study estimates the brand today at ₹2,000 Cr+ and present across 56 countries.

UDM does not claim credit for Aachi's overall growth. The specific claim is simpler: across new products, relaunches and new markets, packaging consistently supported the business instead of holding it back.

What UDM actually delivers

01

Vision, not just Design.

We respond with a commercial vision of what the packaging could become—and then execute against it.

02

Range Architecture.

We build consumer-navigable, colour-coded SKU systems that create coherence and stronger shelf presence.

03

Category Leadership.

The measure is not only whether the client likes the design. It is whether the market begins to follow it.

The relationship

14+ years. 400+ products. 56 countries.

A long-term packaging partnership across SKUs, markets and relaunches—built around one belief: packaging should make the product easier to choose.
